Gurpurab

Literally festivals, Gurupurabs are anniversaries associated with the lives of the Sikh Gurus. The Sikhs celebrate 10 Gurpurabs in a year. At each of these festivals, one of the ten gurus of the Khalsa Pantha is honored. Of these the important ones are the birthdays of Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh and the martyrdom days of Guru Arjun Dev and Guru Teg Bahadur. Prabhat Pheris, the early morning religious procession that goes around the localities singing shabads (hymns) start three weeks before the festival.

Being a place of rich cultural heritage, Punjab is famous for its art & craft. Punjab has got a rich and honary tradition of decorative designs and handicrafts. Punjab has a wide assortment of invaluable handicraft that the people have treasured since centuries. The museums are the best places to visit in order to see these artifacts.

Chandigarh

Also called The City Beautiful is a city in India that serves as the capital of two states: Punjab and Haryana. However, administratively, the city is not under the jurisdiction of either state, it is administered by the Central government and hence classified as a union territory. The Governor of the Punjab is the Administrator of Chandigarh. The city derives its name from a temple of goddess Chandi (the Chandi Mandir) located in nearby Panchkula District of Haryana.

Keeping that in mind we added this feature. The Punjabi in you would really like to see your homeland on your desktops and would be excited to tell your peers, which this beautiful land is.
Sometimes we long to find a way to discuss the concerns of our homeland with our peers, so that we can undertake measures which are appropriate and just. A forum for discussion of our all important issues provides a way to do just that. Lets tell what we feel needs to be done by adding to the ongoig discussions on our forum. We also welcome you for starting a new topic of discussion that you consider is important but missing.
